Graham County's Street Car System Bankrupt, Dec. 16, 1923

Graham Railway in Receivers’ Hands

Greensboro, N.C., Dec. 15—An order placing the Alamance railway company, operating a street car system in Burlington, Haw River and Graham, in the hands of a receiver, has been signed by Federal Judge E. Yates Webb, upon petition of the American Trust company of Richmond, Va. J.H. Bridges of Burlington is named receiver.

The receivership is a result of defaulted payment of interest on $120,000 in bonds held by the petitioner. The receiver is authorized to continue the operation of the street car line connecting the three Alamance county points.
