Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 16—Judge Thomas M. Pittman, resident judge of the third judicial district, has tendered his resignation to Governor Morrison, effective February 15. Governor Morrison has tendered the appointment as Mr. Pittman’s successor to Tasker H. Polk of Warrenton. Press of private business interests was given as the reason for the resignation of Judge Pittman.
Judge Pittman was appointed by Governor Morrison several months ago to succeed Judge John Kerr, who was elected successor to the late Claude Kitchin, as representative from the second North Carolina congressional district.
