Locomobile Seen at Jack Sparrow's Filling Station, Feb. 14, 1924

Since the State highway was built through Chapel Hill we see automobiles from every state in the Union, of all shapes and sizes, from weather-beaten cars with trailers behind to luxurious limousines containing handsomely dressed objects that look like millionaires and millionairesses. When I stopped at Jack Sparrow’s filling station the other day, a gigantic Locomobile with a New York license was pulling away, and Mr. Sparrow said: “That certainly was a fine customer; loaded 35 gallons of gas into his tank.”
