Sheriff Glover and Deputy Weatherby captured two gamblers and a bootlegger Sunday night about 9 o’clock near the Rosebud Church about five miles from Wilson.
The three men were in a ?? store facing on the Rocky Mount Road, T.W. Moore and J.C. ??, both white, were playing a game of ?? when the sheriff ??. W.A. Grimes, also white, had a little over a quart of whiskey. The men were placed under arrest and brought to the city.
They were given a preliminary hearing before Magistrate W.C. Paulson that morning and were bound over to Superior Court. Grimes was bound over to the ?? court under $100 bond on a charge of having whiskey for the purpose of sale. The other two men were charged with gambling and were bound over to court under $50 bond each.
