The first carload of hogs to be shipped from Robeson county in 1924 will be loaded in Rowland Wednesday, according to Mr. O.O. Dukes, county farm demonstrator, who has the matter in charge.
These hogs, 62 of them, are the property of Messrs. J. McC. Bracy and Frank Wallace. It is not known where they will be shipped as all the markets had not been heard from at the time this was written.
Three carloads of hogs were shipped last year—two from Buie and one from Red Springs. Another car will be shipped this year from Red Springs. Those shipping last year were well pleased with prices received, and it is expected that the number of cars shipped this year from the county will surpass the number last year.
