Our Washington correspondent sends us the following, which was published in part in the Washington Post of May 26th, 1924.
The funeral services of Walter Frederick Bulla were held in Washington, May 27th, at St. Paul’s Rock Creek Parrish Church.
Mr. Bulla was 32 years of age. He died of pneumonia at Walter Reed General hospital on Saturday, May 24, 1924.
The deceased was the son of John W. and Agnes Thorns Bulla, residing at 517 Seward Square S.E., whose North Carolina home was Asheboro, where they are well known and have many relatives and friends.
He was a graduate of Fishburne Military Academy, a student of A. & M. College of Raleigh, N.C., and a graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute, Auburn, Ala.
Mr. Bulla was popular in Civil Service circles and at the time of his death was an assistant examiner of the Patent Office, holding an important technical position. He was a World War veteran, having entered the military service at Camp Gordan, Ga., with the 82nd Division, in April 1918, and serving 13 months overseas.
Interment in Rock Creek cemetery instead of Arlington National Cemetery, to which he was entitled, was arranged with the ultimate purpose of taking his remains to their North Carolina home at Asheboro.
Surviving him are his father and mother of this city and a sister, Miss Beatrice Bulla of New York City.
