Raleigh, Aug. 12—Will Hampton, who was convicted at the 1923 August term of the Cherokee County Superior Court of violating the prohibition act and sentenced to serve 18 months on the county roads, was on Monday granted a parole for the remainder of his term by Governor Morrison.
The parole was recommended by Judge T.D. Bryson who tired Hampton and by Solicitor Grover C. Davis who prosecuted him.
The Governor stated that he paroled the man because he had reliable information that his family was in destitute circumstances, that the man had made a good prisoner, and because of the recommendations.
