Honor Soldiers on Armistice Day, Nov. 11, 1924

Armistice Day Approaches

Next Tuesday is the anniversary of the greatest day that has ever been ushered into the events of the world with the exception of the day on which the son of God was born.

This day is known as Armistice Day, when the world after four years of the most terrific struggle known to man laid aside its arms and proclaimed universal peace.

Twenty millions of men and all the great nations of the world were engaged in this war, and there was slaughter of the life and property and the fields of Europe reeked with blood. It is no wonder that the greatest rejoicing that the world had ever seen occurred when the war came to a close and peace was declared. In its reaction from the horrors of war there was a united effort to agree on terms of universal peace, and a parliament was formed to guarantee this peace would continue when the world had recuperated, and the passions of men were again in control of affairs.

But next Tuesday is Armistice Day. This day will be observed to every one who appreciates the great work that our boys accomplished and the part that America played in the great struggle.

All honor to these boys.

Their contribution to the world was the greatest that could possibly have been made, for they showed the world that America in her greatness, in her mercy, in her magnanimity could fight for peace as well as war, and these boys have made forever the power and prestige of Armistice the balance wheel in the affairs of men.
