More Than 1,500 Attend Hahn Family Reunion, Sept. 4, 1925

Hahn Reunion Attended by Many Hundreds. . . Estimated That Between 1,500 and 2,600 Persons Were Present for the 12th Annual Reunion

Members of the Hahn family, one of the largest and most prominent in this county, gathered in annual reunion Thursday at their meeting places, 2 ½ miles east of Mt. Pleasant. Every feature of the day moved off in smooth fashion and the reunion was declared the best the family has yet held.

Interesting addresses, plenty of refreshments, a sumptuous dinner and renewal of friendships were among the high lights in a day filled with pleasure. The reunion was the 12th held by the family and created such interest that plans already are being made for the 1926 gathering.

During the day speeches were made by Mr. Yount of Gold Hill; Rev. C.P. Fisher of China Grove; Rev. J.H.C. Fisher of Mt. Pleasant, and C.H. Barrier, mayor of Concord. The address of welcome was delivered by Glenn Hahn, and was said to have been one of the most interesting talks of the day.

Between 1,500 and 2,000 persons were present for the reunion, the crowd being bigger by far than at any previous gathering. While practically every one present is connected by blood or marriage to the Hahn family, a number of invited guests also were present.

During the business session the following officers were elected for the year:

H.C. Hahn, President

Clifford Fisher, Vice President

Justice N. Hahn, Treasurer

Richard Hahn, Secretary

The reunion grounds are located at a spot about 200 yards from the site of the first Hahn home in this section of the country. Data concerning the members of the family who first settled in this country is being collected now and probably will be published in book form at a later date.
