High Point—For the first time in its history, the city council has ordered that a grave here be opened for the purpose of identification.
For over a month, three High Point men have been pleading with the council to help them in a controversy arising over a grave in Oakwood cemetery. The council urged the three mem, J.D. Strader, M.H. Chadwick and R.L. Hill, to decide the question among themselves, but apparently, they were unable to reach an agreement.
Strader says the grave in question is that of his child, while Chadwick claims, and is supported in his contention by Smith, that Chadwick’s child is buried there.
The council, after hearing Thomas J. Gold and Garland Daniel, representing Mr. Strader ordered the grave opened.
