Mills to Get More Power

Charlotte, Nov. 2 (AP)—Reduction by one-half day of the curtailment program required of industry in this section as a result of the hydro-electric power shortage, was announced here today at the offices of the Southern Power Co., which supplies electric power to many industrial plants including approximately 300 cotton mills in the Carolinas. The announcement stated that this reduction was ordered in anticipation of more favorable stream flow. The plants will continue to suspend two days per week until conditions become more favorable, it was said.
