Chapel Hill, Nov. 1—Five university students have been recommended by the university’s committee of election of Rhodes Scholarships. They are John Felmore Cooper of Clinton; William J. Cocke of Asheville; C.R. Jones of Lincolnton; W.B. Pipkin of Reidsville; and R.B. Raney of Raleigh.
There are other candidates from other institutions. Only one Rhodes scholar will be chosen. The final selection by the state committee will be announced December 12.
