Osby Hinson and Young Son in Serious Condition after Wreck, Nov. 19, 1925

Mule Wrecks Car and Injures Two . . . Mr. Osby Hinson and Son Hurt When Animal Wrecks Their Automobile

Mr. Osby Hinson and young son are in a critical condition as a result of an unusual accident which occurred on the Clinton-Newton Grove Road near the home of Mr. R.D. Vann Monday afternoon about 6:30 o’clock.

While en route home from Clinton Messrs. Len and Joe Warren had six mules trailing behind their wagon. When near the home of Mr. Vann one of the heaviest mules became excited at the approach of Mr. Hinson’s car and dashed immediately in front of it, the result being that the car picked up the animal with such force that it was thrown head first through the windshield to the rear of the automobile, which was a Ford touring car, rendering Mr. Hinson unconscious. One of his sons received injuries which may prove fatal. The hood and radiator of the car were torn apart from the engine.

Immediately following the accident Dr. Lee was called and gave the necessary medical aid, his statement being that the condition of both father and son was critical, with little hope for the son’s recovery.

There were four children accompanying Mr. Hinson, three of whom escaped injury.
