Miss Mayme Eakins, a member of the faculty of Central High School, has returned to her home in Asheville.
The following members of the graded school faculty have returned to their homes after a successful year’s work: Miss Minnie Kate Yates to Atlanta, Miss Eva Johnson to Franklin, Tenn., Miss Queen Duvall to Jefferson, N.C., Prof. J.U. Gibbs and Miss DeBord to Whittier.
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Gidney of Canton are visiting Mr. Gidney’s sister, Mrs. A.B. Ensley, for a few days.
E.L. McKee, D.G. Bryson and J.B. Ensley, delegates from the Sylva Chamber of Commerce, attended the Western North Carolina Chamber of Commerce meeting in Asheville on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Ford King, Miss Elizabeth and E. Ford Jr. motored to Asheville last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Ensley motored to Asheville Friday.
Miss Grace Jones, who has been teaching at Rich Square, N.C., is the guest of her sister, Mrs. H.L. Evans.
Mrs. Hester Henson of Webster is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W.D. Warren for several days.
Mrs. W.G. McNeill was called to Knoxville this week owing to the illness of her mother.
Miss Isabell Allison, who has been teaching at Candler, has returned to her home in Webster.
Miss Blonde Crawford, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Jeff Hedden, returned to Knoxville Saturday.
Miss Thelma Hyatt of Bryson City is spending the week with Mrs. G.J. Robinson at her home on Allen Street.
Misses Barbara Hare, Mary Sue Hemphill and Beth Seawright, who have been teaching in Sylva graded school, left for Asheville Saturday, where they entered Cecil’s Business College.
Prof. A.C. Lovelace and family left Monday for Rutherfordton where they will make their home. Mr. Lovelace has been the efficient superintendent of Sylva schools for the past two years.
Miss Myrtle Henson left Tuesday for a month’s visit to relatives in Akron, Ohio.
Mrs. B.O. Painter and children are spending the week in Asheville guests of Mrs. Henry McLean on South French Broad.
Mrs. Alvin Ensley, Miss Ethel Wilson, Messrs. J.V. Barringer and John C. Sutton motored to Hendersonville Monday to see Jack Dempsey.
Mrs. J.S. Broyles of Webster spent Wednesday with her daughter, Mrs. L.C. Hall.
Miss Mary Jones of Central High School faculty returned this week to her home in Wingate.
Prof. V.D. Cooper, history teacher of Central High School left Monday for Nashville, where he will enter Peabody College for the summer session.
Mr. and Mrs. James Councill of Shelton Laurel and Mrs. B.J. Councill of Boone were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Hooker and Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Hall.
Coach Rickenbaker of the High School returned to his home in South Carolina this week.
The friends of Mrs. J.R. Cochran will be pleased to know she is improving. Mrs. Cochran underwent a serious operation at the French Broad Hospital in Asheville on last Wednesday.
Mrs. Blaine Ensley of Cleveland Ohio and Mrs. Zollie Brown of Asheville were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Ensley.
Mr. and Mrs. E.L. McKee, Mesdames J.R. Buchanan and H.E. Buchanan moored o Asheville on Thursday.
J.F. Freeze and Sam Allison spent several days this week at Nantahala fishing.

Miss Inez Sullivan, who recently suffered an attack of appendicitis, left Thursday for her home in Hayesville to recuperate. Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon Moody were Asheville visitors on last Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Hall and small son, of Bryson City, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Allison.
Miss Lazell Henson had as her week-end guest Miss Mary Pleasants of Cullowhee State Normal.
Mr. W.N. Sutton of Franklin, N.C., was in the city Thursday.
Miss Lilly Everett is spending several days in Asheville this week.
Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Henson, Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Allison and small daughter Hazel are spending several days this week at Mr. Henson’s camp on Caney Fork.

Mrs. A.M. Simons and daughter, Miss Helen, are spending this week I Asheville with relatives.

Mrs. Roy Allison and daughter Kate are I Hayesville for a few days, visiting Mrs. Allison’s father, Mr. G.W. Penland.
Dr. and Mrs. C.Z. Candler, Mr. and Mrs. Enloe Moore, Miss Margaret Candler and Charles Candler will go to Murphy next Tuesday to attend the Candler-Lee wedding. Martha Matilda Candler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Candler, will marry Dale Lee May 5th in Murphy.
