Gov. Morrison Names Col. D.A. Watts Commissioner of Revenue, April 2, 1921

Gov. Morrison Puts Col. Watts into Tax Post

Raleigh, N.C., April 2—Governor Morrison today announced the appointment of Colonel D.A. Watts of Statesville as commissioner of revenue, under the act of 1921 creating this position. The office carries a salary of $5,500 a year.

Colonel Watts was formerly internal revenue collector at Statesville and has been a prominent figure in democratic party activities in North Carolina for many years.

Colonel Aus Watts is at present a resident of Charlotte, head of the Federal Tax Service corporation which was located here some months ago when Colonel Watts left the federal service at Statesville to engage in this private enterprise.
