Beaufort-Wilmington Link of Inland Waterway, Nov. 16, 1924

Important Meeting Here Tuesday Night. . . Representatives of Many Eastern Towns Will Confer with Government Officers

> A conference of importance will be held in the rooms of the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday night at 7:30 o’clock when the business representatives of Wilmington, New Bern, Jacksonville, Pollocksville, Maysville, Morehead City, Beaufort, Kinston, Swansboro, Goldsboro and other towns of the eastern part of North Carolina will meet with Senator F.M. Simmons, Congressman Charles L. Abernethy and General O.O. Keunts of the U.S. Engineer’s Corps to consider the initial steps that are to be taken relative to the Beaufort-Wilmington link of the Inland Waterway.>

This meeting is in conjunction to the hearting that will be heard in Wilmington on December 1st, when the whole matter concerning the proposed inland waterway link will be considered and passed upon. >
