Car Collides with Wagon, Ernest Kelly Loses Eye, Dec. 14, 1922

Mules Collide With Car

Sam Hildreth and Ernest Kelly of Peachland, driving a Ford automobile last evening at 7 o’clock, collided head-on with a two-mule team of Mr. Walter Griffin of New Salem township, he driving the team. The mules landed on top of the engine, one of the animals’ front feet on the front seat of the car. The wagon tongue went through the windshield, glass severely cutting Mr. Kelly’s face. Mr. Kelly, it is reported, lost an eye besides getting to ribs fractured. Mr. Griffin was uninjured. The mules were badly cut and otherwise injured.
