2-Year-Old Paul Coggin Dies of Croup, Jan. 18, 1923

Child Dies Enroute to Hospital

The sympathy of many friends goes out to Mr. and Mrs. William J. Coggin, residing a few miles west of Nashville, who have been called upon to undergo the sorrow caused by the death of their little 2-year-old son, Paul Coggin, who died on Saturday afternoon while the little fellow was being taken to the hospital at Rocky Mount for treatment for membraneous croup. For several days the child had been quite sick, and on Saturday it became so desperately ill the parents sought the hospital for relief, but the little fellow died before reaching the hospital.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon by Rev. J.E. Hocutt and interment was made in the old Coggin burial ground.
