Mrs. Edwin Yates Webb Has Died, Nov. 17, 1923

Wife of Federal Judge Dies in High Point

High Point, N.C., Nov. 17—Mrs. Edwin Yates Webb, wife of Federal District Judge Webb of Shelby, died at 2:45 o’clock this afternoon in a local hospital where she has been a patient for nine weeks.

Her husband, three children, Judge Webb’s brother, State Judge James L. Webb of Shelby, and other members of the family were present at the time of death.

The body of Mrs. Webb will be taken to Shelby tomorrow and the funeral will occur there Monday. Before her marriage 29 years ago, the deceased with Miss Willie Simmons, daughter of the late Professor William Gaston Simmons of Wake Forest College. She was born at Wake Forest, May 18, 1873. Her children are Miss Elizabeth Webb, Edwin Yates Webb Jr. of A. and E. College student body, and William Webb of Shelby.
