Society Notes and a Frank L. Stanton Poem, July 12, 1922

FADED AWAY

By Frank L. Stanton

You have faded away from the light o’ the day,

But love is a dream, and he goes a dream’s way!

There is nothing to sing, there is nothing to say;

You have faded away!

Sweet was love’s morning—the beautiful May;

But love is a dream, and he goes a dream’s way!

Yet, dear, if I prayed, ‘tis for you I would pray,

Who have faded away!
