Mass Meeting Called for June 18, 1923; Motor to Church in Comfort in a Chevrolet

Mass Meeting Called, Wentworth, Monday, June 18th, 11 a.m.

Rockingham County is in debt practically $3 million. The tax rate is mounting upward each month. Can we allow things not actually necessary, to be done by taxing the people?

The courts will not restrain public officials in the absence of proven fraud or abuse of discretion.

The Fishing Creek bridge across Dan River will be built unless public sentiment prevent it. This means, possibly, an expenditure of a quarter of a million dollars, the public must pay.

Every citizen of Rockingham County is urged to be at Wentworth Monday, June 18th, 1923, to discuss this matter, and to take some action on the same.

Motor to Church in Comfort

The Chevrolet 5-Passenger Sedan is most popular for family use, because it affords comfort, weather protection and the home atmosphere all the year ‘round for five people—yet may be economically operated with only one or two passengers.

Its power, reliability and low up-keep appeal to men. Women like its handsome lines, fine upholstery, plate glass windows with Ternstedt regulators, and fine finish.

Everybody appreciates its great value at $860, f.o.b. Flint, Mich.

From allaboutpocketknives.com: "Ternstedt was named after its founder, Alvar K. Ternstedt, inventor of the first practical car window regulator. A native of Sweden, he applied for a patent on his invention in 1911, but it was not granted until 1916. The regulator utilized a chain and sprocket mechanism that offered greater ease of operation than any previous device."
