Please Conserve Water, Asks Mayor T.G. Stem, June 5, 1923

Conserve Water

At the request of the Oxford Water Company I desire to say that the water company is now engaged in deepening one of its wells, which of necessity puts this well temporarily out of commission, and very materially lessons the water supply. On this account and on account of the dry period of weather which has existed for some time, the people of Oxford are earnestly requested to conserve our water supply as much as possible, and are especially requested not to water their lawns until the supply of water is more abundant.

--T.G. Stem, Mayor of Oxford
