Judge Horton in his charge to the Wake Grand Jury last Monday morning brings to mind the old adage, “The more I see of some folks, the better I like my dog.”
The Judge had just returned from a three weeks stay as a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in New York, and in charging the jury, he told them that he was glad of the fact that he was a North Carolinian; that he was glad to have been born and reared in a State that contained such a small per cent of foreign born. Evidently after spending a couple of weeks in the “Al Smith-Tammany’ atmosphere, the Judge is more appreciative of the fact that he really does live in a good State, made up of good people.
May the people of this State heed the sentiment expressed by the Judge and keep North Carolina where she stands today.
