Raleigh, July 7—Mrs. Mary Owen Graham, who as president of Peace Institute has been on a leave of absence for the past two years, has resigned and her resignation has been accepted by the Board of Trustees, according to an announcement of the Board Saturday.
The Board accepting the resignation of Miss Graham, who has been in ill health for some time, tendered her a unanimous vote of thanks and appreciation for her work while president of the institution.
The Board has left the entire management of the School for the next term in the hands of W.C. Pressly and Miss May McClelland who have had direction of the institution during the absence of Miss Graham. A committee on permanent management appointed by the Board will report at the mid-winter meeting to be held in February.
The following new Trustrees were elected: Mrs. I.F. Hill, Durham; Mrs. W.T. Clark, Wilson; Mrs. Cameron Morrison, Raleigh; Mrs. William Reynolds, Winston-Salem; Mrs. lW.P. Sprunt, Wilmington; and Mrs. C.C. McAllister, Fayetteville.
The following officers were elected: Mrs. W. McC. White, President; Ed Chambers Smith, Vice-President; J.R. Young, Secretary-Treasurer; Executive Committee, Capt. Nathan O’Berry, Mrs. Josephus Daniels, Dr. D.H. Scanlon, Dr. W. McC. White, Dr. B.W. Kilgore, and Messrs K.G. Hudson, Geo. Howard, Ed Chambers Smith, R.Y. McPherson, and J.R. Young.
