In the final quarter of the game last Friday at League Park, the Raleigh High School did spectacular playing, averting defeat ad scoring a safety and touchdown, making the final score 8 to 7 over Wilson High School eleven.
Raleigh’s first score came in the first quarter when Wilson fumbled on the 12-yard line, where Wilson had been driven by the clever punting of Sears.
Wilson, in the second quarter, did some sensational playing, carrying the ball in two runs, one 30 and the other 20 yards, within a yard of Raleigh’s goal when the whistle blew for the half.
In the second half a touchdown was made by Wilson, an off-tackle drive going over the 25-yard line in one play, and the score stood at end of third 7 to 2.
Sears then took Wilson’s kick-off back 25 yards. Line plunges carried the ball to the 40-yard mark, and lane and Bristow smashed through for 16 yards, but were stopped three yards from the goal.
Wilson’s kick-out was blocked, Hawkins made a touchdown, and after that Wilson was entirely out of luck, game closing 8 to 7.
The line-up was as follows:

J. Lassiter Right Guard McGowan
