J. Alvin Ensley was killed and Hilliard Gidney seriously injured when Mr. Ensley’s car turned over in the road near Action, Wednesday night. Gidney was rushed to the French Broad hospital in Asheville and the body of young Ensley was taken to Asheville undertaking parlor by Mr. E.L. Mckee, who arrived upon the scene immediately following the accident.
Mr. Ensley is a son of John B. Ensley of Sylva, a member of the city council, and a veteran of the World War.
Surviving him are his widow and two small children, his father, three sisters, Mrs. H.M. Hooper of Akron, Ohio, Miss Cyntha Ensley of Sylva and Mrs. A.W. Oaks of Winter Haven, Fla., and three brothers, A.B. Ensley of Charlotte and Chester and Blaine Ensley of Cleveland, Ohio.
