By H.C. MacNair

Maxton, Jan. 16—A new Lincoln sedan belong to Mr. J. Pat Jackson, President of Maxton Motor Company, caught fire on the road between here and Fayetteville last night and was entirely consumed. Mr. Henry McNatt, manager of the Motor company, had been to Fayetteville in the car on business for the company and was returning when the car spattered a time or two and suddenly the flames rushed from in front, giving him short time to save himself. There was about three-fourths value insurance on the automobile but other valuable equipment was destroyed on which there was no insurance.

Mr. L.S. Townsend, president of the Robeson County Co-operative association, has moved to Maxton from the McDonald section and is occupying the McLean residence on North Patterson Street.
