Farmer, N.C., Jan. 27, 1925
My dear Mrs. Hammer:
I was very much surprised when I came home from town yesterday to find I had a string of pearls. I did not expect to win for I have never been a winner of prizes for either luck or pluck.
The pearls are very, very pretty, indeed, and I shall always think of The Courier when I wear them. It seems the prize is much larger than the small amount of work required to win it, would deserve.
Thanking you again for nice prize and wishing you and The Courier much success, I am,
Yours sincerely,
Hope Hubbard
