Diamondback Rattlesnake in St. Augustine, Fla., Sept. 17, 1925

Pistol Falls, Cane Works

On a recent trip to Florida J.B. Walkup killed a diamondback rattle snake measuring 6 feet and having 14 rattles and a button. The snake was seen by Mr. Walkup’s party on the highway three miles out of St. Augustine and was killed by Mr. Walkup with a stick after another member of the party had missed it three times with a pistol.
