Mr. Wade Hampton Kinlaw received notice this morning of his appointment as acting postmaster for the town of Lumberton. He will take over the duties of the office immediately and will serve until a postmaster is selected through civil service examination.
Postmaster McGill has held office since June 1922, when he was appointed for a four-year term, which expired in June of this year. Since the past June Mr. McGill has continued to hold the office until the appointment of his successor today. He desires that The Robesonian express to the patrons of the office his appreciation for their co-operating during his term of office.
Mr. Kinlaw was born and raised in Howellsville township, near Lumberton, received his degree in law at the University of North Carolina and was licensed to practice law in 1904. He has been a practicing attorney in Lumberton for the past 20 years. He is a prominent Republican and is well known to the public. Twice he made the race for his party for a member of the legislature, and once he was a candidate for clerk of the court of Robeson county.
