Mr. D. Blalock, aged 80, who lived on Route 1, died at his home Sunday morning at 1 o’clock, following an illness of about five weeks. His death was caused by a stroke of paralysis, followed later by complications including high blood pressure and heart trouble. His death, although a great shock to friends all over the County, did not come entirely unexpected.
The funeral services were conducted from the home at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon with Elders J.J. Hall and B.F. McKinney officiating. Interment was in the Jesse Walker family cemetery, near the home.
