The house on Academy street occupied by Luke Ritchie and family was badly damaged by fire this morning about 11 o’clock.
The fire was on the roof and had caused most of the damage before the firemen arrived. With two streams of water, the firemen quickly extinguished the blaze.
Most of the roof on the rear of the house was burned off.
