Two Splendid Sermons at Presbyterian Church

The Rev. Robert Miles, formerly of Richmond, Va., but now connected with Davidson College, occupied the pulpit of the First Presbyterian church on Sunday, preaching two splendid sermons.

Mr. Miles has but recently returned from France, where he spent seven months in the service, and tells some interesting stories of his experiences with the American army abroad. Mr. Miles is an old Davidson man and recalled some pleasant visits to Hickory as a football player some 10 years ago when Davidson and Lenoir tore up the turf with the pigskin. He was surprised to see that the town had blossomed into a full-fledged city since those days.
