Kinston Cotton Gin Lost Because Firemen Couldn't Reach Water Source, Dec. 2, 1920

Kinston—Firemen saw the gin of Sam Taylor one mile from this city burn at midnight powerless to do anything to save the plant. There was not a water plug anywhere, while the whole of Neuse river a few yards away was just a few inches out of range of the suction hose of an engine which went to the “Iron Bridge” where the gin was located.
