By Mrs. Hattie McLucas
A successful rally was held at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion church at Hamlet, N.C. Splendid reports were made by the captains. As a result of the earnest and untiring work of the clubs with their captains, $1,039 was raised in a single effort. Owing to the limited space, we cannot give the names of each of the workers and the captains.
We were glad to have Bishop G.L. Blackwell with us on the evening of the rally. He preached an excellent sermon and expressed himself as being elated over the success of the pastor and people
Rev. J.M. Branch, who is the pastor of St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church, is bringing things to pass and his people and the community in which he lives holds him in high esteem. He is meeting with great success in all he undertakes.
