Wake Forest Beats Chapel Hill 32-0, Nov. 12, 1924

Baptists Win with Ease 32-0. . . Sluggish Trinity Backfield Unable to Cope with Attack of Wake Forest Eleven in Armistice Day Classic at Durham—Rackley’s Work for Baptists Features

By the Associated Press

Durham, Nov. 11—A sluggish Blue Devil backfield proved unable to cope with Garrity’s Demon Deacons here this afternoon, and Trinity College was swamped 32 to 0 by Wake Forest.

Rackley carried the ball over for the first Deacon touchdown and after this first blood had been spilled, the Trinity defense crumbled before the steady assault on the line by the Deacons.

Trinity was kept on the defensive during the greater part of the game and had but one real chance to score. In the third period Caldwell failed in a try for field goal from the Wake Forest 30-yard line, the furthest advance of the Blue Devils during the game.

The feature of the game was Rackley’s 55-yard run for a touchdown in the fourth period after he had intercepted a Trinity forward pass on the Wake Forest 45-yard line.
