Newton, June 10—Fielding Drum, a farmer near Balls’ Creek campground, aged about 65 years, dropped dead while helping his son stack a load of wheat. He leaves a widow and a large number of children, all of whom are grown and married.
The Drums of eastern Catawba constitute one of the largest connections in Catawba county.
