Spencer, June 9—Prof. Frank R. Richardson has been elected by the Spencer school board as superintendent of the schools here and has accepted the place, effective at once. Making a choice from a score or more of applicants, many of whom would have been acceptable, Prof. Richardson has considered by the school board to be well fitted for the head of the work here. He is a graduate of Trinity college and for five years was the successful superintendent of the schools at Mocksville. Later he went to Bessemer City where he was for the past year superintendent of a 28-teacher school. He comes to Spencer with a fine record ack of him and is regarded as one of the foremost educators of the state, being a member of a well known family. After attending summer school at Duke university Prof. Richardson will move to Spencer to make his home.
