Policeman W.T. McCuiston Killed by Blockader, May 5, 1921

Policeman Killed by Liquor Seller

Policeman W.T. McCuiston was killed in Greensboro yesterday (Wednesday) when attempting to board a liquor-hauling auto. The auto was parsed and one of the occupants captured, another killed and one escaped.

A story very much like this came from Wilson county some two weeks ago.

It is a desperate game both as to the seller and the officer, and it seems the officer is taking his life in his hands when he undertakes to enforce the law.

Only about the weeks ago an Alamance officer escaped being shot because the blockader’s pistol would not fire.

Officers must have the support of the law-abiding citizens to enable them to enforce the law and break up the business.
