The report of the county quarantine officer, Dr. Thel Hooks, for August shows that there were 10 cases of typhoid fever, five cases of scarlet fever, one case of septic sore throat, six cases of whooping cough, and 30 cases of diphtheria reported to him during the month. The fact that diphtheria and typhoid fever head the list in point of number of cases, shows the advisability of taking precaution against these diseases.
It is gratifying too, in view of these facts, that a large number have responded to the call for vaccination which will undoubtedly lessen the prevalence of these diseases. Below is the report in detail.
