Pop Huff's Photo But Son William's Running Shad Business, Feb. 10, 1922

WILLIAM F HUFF

The face of Edward S. (Pop) Huff himself continues to appear in the shad which distinguishes the advertising and printed matter of Edward S. Huff Co., wholesale fish commission dealers, of Philadelphia, but the shop at the head of the business to-day is Wm. F. Huff, son of the founder of the business. The ownership of the business passed to young Mr. Huff more than two years ago when his father retired, but very few people outside the market knew that any change had been made. The business was not new to Wm. F. Huff; the young man had grown up with it. When he was still in High School he worked at the market mornings and afternoons out of school hours. He kept the books of the firm in those days. Afterwards he went on the floor, sorting and selling the fish. He was head salesman and manager of the business at the age of 30. He is 38 at this writing. Edwin S. Huff Co., is one of the largest and best known firms on Dock Street Fish Market, Philadelphia. They make a specialty of North Carolina shad.
