Probable cause was found in the hearing of George Sledge in recorder’s court Saturday on a charge of embezzlement. He was bound over to superior court under a bond of $300. He was charged with embezzling $245.73 from C.W. Thompson.
Mrs. Florence Skidd skidded into police officers Friday while in an intoxicated state, and she was carried to the city lock-up where she was allowed to sober up at her leisure. Tried by the recorder Saturday, she was let off without any punishment, but a capias was ordered issued, and it was made returnable at any time upon this order of the court within six months’ time.
Buck Addison was fined $5 and the costs for getting drunk, but half of the fine was remitted.
Prayer for judgment was entered in the case against Reed Latta, charged with vagrancy, and it was continued for six months upon the payment of costs.
Holt Allen was taxed with the costs for assault and battery with deadly weapon.
For violating the sanitary code, Vergil Rigsby was given a hearing. Prayer for judgment was entered and the case continued for 20 days upon the payment of costs.
Noah Brown was found not guilty of assault with (a) deadly weapon.
Roosevelt Barbour appealed a fine of $25 and the costs for illegal possession of liquor. His bond was set at $100.
