Walter Lee, a negro, was bound to superior court under a bond of $200 Saturday morning by Judge P.C. Graham following preliminary hearing in the case against him in which forgery is charged. Lee was arrested Thursday night by plain clothes men upon evidence which pointed toward him as being the man who forged another negro’s name to a check for $20 and presented it to a local drug store for cash.
Other Cases
The following new cases were taken up on Saturday morning:
Kint Johnson, illegal possession of whiskey, not guilty.
Ella Johnson, illegal possession of whiskey, $5 and the costs.
Kint Johnson, receiving pistol without a permit, fined $5 and the costs.
Wade Harrsell, illegal possession of whiskey, $5 and the costs.
Louis Bumpass, illegal possession of whiskey, December 18.
Pearl Epps, illegal possession of whiskey, fined $25 and the costs.
Bertha Dickey, malicious injury to property and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, suspended judgment in the first case and a fine of $10 and the costs in the second.
A.M. Mitchell, giving worthless check, judgement suspended upon payment of the costs.
Reuben Oakley, assault and battery, $10 and the costs.
A.P. Carlton, violating traffic ordinances, judgment suspended upon payment of the costs.
Erwin Couch, violating traffic ordinance, failed to appear.
Roy Jourdan, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, $50 and the costs and hospital bill.
