A wedding of much local interest was solemnized in Spartanburg, S.C., September 6th, 1924, when Miss Sallie Holmes Collins, daughter of Mrs. Julia Collins, became the bride of Mr. Charles Earl Carswell.
Both the bride and groom are from two of Forest City’s most prominent families, Mr. Carswell being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus W. Carswell.
The marriage was kept secret until last Tuesday when it was announced that they were married in Spartanburg, S.C., September 6th. Their marriage comes as a surprise to their many friends who wish for them a long and successful voyage upon the matrimonial sea of life.
