For the last several days it has been very windy in this
section of the country. On Tuesday the wind blew hard enough to blow off limbs
on some of the trees in some places and at other places the trees were blown
down. In the southwest portion of the county, Winfred Howell, a youth 14 years
old, was killed by a large limb falling on him, and his younger brother,
Willard, was badly hurt by the same limb. Their father, Felix Howell, jumped
from under the falling limb just in time to avoid being killed or hurt.—Jefferson Recorder
