Those muddy roads,
Those hilly roads,
Are gone and now forgotten.
Frank Page has changed
And has them arranged,
That they are not now rotten.
Those old roads,
Those bumpy old roads,
From thee we sever,
They gave trouble in old days,
They worried you in many ways,
But “them days are gone forever.”
Poem from the front page of The Chatham Record, Pittsboro, N.C., Sept. 6, 1923
