Mrs. Hattie Walls, mother of the editor, spent Sunday in Rutherfordton among many friends and relatives. She reports a very enjoyable time.
Dr. C.S. Whitted, Secretary of the Brotherhood, who has been ill for a few days at the home of the editor, has recovered sufficiently to travel. He leaves the city today to attend the conference in Gastonia.

The pew rally, given under the auspices of the missionary society at Grace church Sunday afternoon, was quite a success. The sum of $36.63 was realized.
We extend our sympathy to Mr. Wright Jones, who mourns the loss of his devoted wife, Mrs. Daisy K. Jones, who passed away Wednesday morning of this week.
