New Magnolia Chapter Officers Installed, April 3, 1925

Installation of Officers of Magnolia Chapter

On the evening of Friday, March 27th, the annual Installation of Officers of Magnolia Chapter was solemnized.

The Chapter opened in regular form with the retiring officers presiding. Sister Gertrude Wilson, Past Matron of a Massachusetts Chapter and Life member of Toronto Chapter was introduced as the Installing Officer, and escorted to the East.

The installation ceremony was performed efficiently and beautifully, Sister Wilson being unexcelled in graciousness and the thorough knowledge of the ritualistic work.

The Star Points were presented with emblematic flowers portraying the teachings of each degree, and were admonished as to their duties and responsibilities of a beautiful poem.

Mrs. Alice Wilson, Chaplain

Mrs. Mabel Lewis, Warden

Mrs. Irmah Leweis, Organist

Mr. Albert Clow, Sentinel

Mrs. Jeanette Backer, Adah

Miss Mary Cameron, Ruth

Miss Annie L. Easton, Esther

Mrs. Flora Richardson, Martha

Mrs. Etta Day, Electa

Following the installation ceremony, Mrs. Irene Millar, worthy Matron, gave an address outlining her years of work.

Mrs. Agnes R. Hamlin, Past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of North Carolina, presented Past Matron, Mrs. Nellie Leavitt, with a Past Matron’s Jewel.

Senior Past Worthy Patron, Mr. Bernard W. Leavitt, on behalf of the chapter, then presented Senior Past Worthy Matron, Mrs. Florence Beck, with a leather bound Ritual with her name lettered in gold leaf. Mr. Leavitt touched on the history of the Chapter and dwelt on the faithfulness of Mrs. Beck to its interest. He also expressed the Chapter’s love and esteem for her.

There were a number of visitors present. A very enjoyable evening was brough to a close by the serving of refreshments.
