Two Children, Two Adults Bitten by Rabid Dog in Reddies River, April 8, 1924

Four Persons Bitten by Rabid Dog in Reddies River

Last Wednesday, April 1st in Reddies River township, a rabid dog bit R.F. Bauguess’ 1-year-old son and two men and a little girl. The dog was afterward killed and the head sent to Raleigh.

Mr. J.V. Bauguss accompanied his son, R.F. Bauguss, and grand son to Raleigh Thursday, where the little fellow as given one treatment—the other 20 treatments to be given here by a physician. It is a shame to think of the trouble and grief caused by worthless, good-for-nothing dogs, and we would be willing to wager most anything that not one-third of them are ever listed. It is also against the law, and carries a fine of $50 to allow a dog off the premises unless accompanied by its owner or someone responsible for its acts.
