Som Stu by Som Stude

Last spring we were all very proud of our pretty green grass on the campus, and it seemed that we had so much of it that it had come to stay, But, lo and behold, the incoming hord of Freshmen with their attendant verdancy has put the poor grass to shame and now it seems that we will have to wait until those Freshmen had been “normalized” by the Sophs until we have the grass with us again.

Speaking of the Freshmen though isn’t it funny how quickly they have come thoroughly familiar with the Sophomores? Indeed, some of them had barely arrived on the Hill when some Sophomore had proclaimed him to be a special friend of his. That is a very commendable spirit.

Since becoming Business Manager of the College, Doctor Amick has adopted a war cry which, if put into words, would be something on this order: “The Slacker Shall Slack No More.” And we are indeed impressed with the fact that he intends to make that a reality ad not just an expression.

The football man is a hero in everybody’s sight but the man who has to wait on his table.

It is understood that there will be several new faces in chapel this year from among the upper classmen.
